About Henry CAREgroup
As it is the biblical responsibility of the Elders to keep watch over the souls of our flock ("as those who will have to give an account" - Hebrews 13:17) and following the advice of Jethro to Moses (Exodus 18:14-26) as well as the example of the Jerusalem Church (Acts 6:1-7), Crossroads seeks to promote Authentic Biblical Community among our Covenant Partners through the thorough care of Deacons operating on behalf of the Elders.
Your Deacons and their Co-Leaders have the privilege and responsibility of engaging, equipping, empowering, and encouraging you in Authentic Biblical Community by:
- Being a conduit of physical and emotional care into our households and sharing with your personal Elder how the Elders as a whole can best be praying for and giving spiritual care to those in your CAREgroup.
-
Modeling authentic, biblical community through these keystone disciplines
- Koinonia Fellowship - Acts 2:42-47
- Bible Engagement (including scripture memory) - Acts 2:42; 2 Timothy 2:15; Psalm 119:11, 105
- Accountability - Proverbs 27:17; Galatians 6:1-2; Matthew 18:15-17; Ecclesiastes 4:9-12; James 5:16-20; Hebrews 10:24; Ephesians 4
- Prayer - Ephesians 6:10-20; James 5:16; Colossians 1:9-12; ! Timothy 2:1-2; Galatians 6:2; Ephesians 3:14-21; 1 John 5:16
- Providing a healthy environment for mentoring by the older men/women - engaging, equipping, empowering, and encouraging the younger men/women in Spirit-driven living and service to others. 2 Timothy 2:2; Titus 2:1-10
- Being intentionally missional - forming a more intimate relationship between the body and a missionary family as well as leading them in reaching our neighbors, our city, and our world with Gospel-centered ministries of mercy so they might come to know, love, and follow Jesus into His Kingdom.
